Hilbun Hall is the house of two departments in MSU - Physics & Astronomy and the Geosciences. I spent my precious grad school years here pursuing Ph.D. In Physics. So I have a lot of good bad and ugly memories stoned here. Out of the personal attachment, this place would be always special to me. However, this building is situated towards the north end side of the campus. Relatively small department and small building ( Always fighting with space problem). The top floor is mostly the laboratories dedicated for undergraduate level classes. If you are the TA, probably you would spend a lot of time here teaching. The class rooms are standard, with good amenities. The bathrooms in each floor are good and well maintained. Most of the graduate students’ offices are at the basement or in second floor. The basement has vending machines of snack and soda. There are parking spots available at the back side, however during the semester running, you would hardly find a spot there. The nearest place to park is at the back side of BK. There is a nice picnic bench at the backside of the building. People often sit there to eat lunch.
