After the renovations, I think its a great library. Lots of selection and space to read. The stairs going up to the main area is not very nice but it looks good.
This library is staffed by helpful friendly librarians. So far the books i ordered arrive quickly. Currently reading The Water Dancer. Amazing book. Highly recommend to others.
Of all the HCPL branches I've been to, this one is hands down my favorite! It's gorgeous inside with lots of places to sit, including little nooks and the outdoor balcony if you're looking for privacy, and outlets everywhere for your electronics. Because of the high ceiling and open layout, noise can definitely travel but it's never bothered me to the point that I can't focus on my work or what I'm reading. And being right in downtown Havre de Grace, parking has surprisingly never been a problem. I could spend an entire day here!

I went there to do some research and study for a test on a Saturday. Big mistake!!! This is one of the most noisy libraries I’ve ever been in. I asked about the noise and the response I got was that libraries are no longer quiet and are geared more towards young children. It’s a shame that we can’t ask that children keep noise levels down so all can enjoy the library!!!nIf you need a quiet place to study don’t go to the Havre de Grace library.
