5-hour driving from Conn and the library was close. We got there at 11am. My daughter was very disappointed.Their website say 10 am to 1pm. Please update your hours.

I will drag friends from out of town here. They wonder why we are going to a music school library. Then they step through the door and go WOW. It you are in the area seeing the Walters Museum, this is worth seeing since it is right around the corner. If you can somehow see the rare book room that is worth it as well but it isn't generally open to the public.

As a wedding photographer with a background in architecture and design, Urban Row Photography would love the opportunity to capture a wedding in this historic and incredibly unique space! The lighting, and unending stacks of books with metalwork details and the black and white floor are so picturesque... being located in the heart of Mt. Vernon is especially great for portraits too. Love how timeless a space like this is!

The whole campus and library are closed. There is no mention on the John's Hopkins site of this

This is a historical landmark to visit when you are in Baltimore so I made it a priority. It is really beautiful in here and I love the architecture of the building inside and out. You cannot go anywhere except the first floor of the library but you can see plenty from the ground floor. They are located in Johns Hopkins University so sometimes it is closed so just beware. This is the library that was the inspiration for Belle’s library in Beauty and the Beast so if you loved that movie or just love library in general check it out next time you are in town!
