While SW paints are pricier than big box store brands, the employees here are very helpful. It's so easy to get one-on-one assistance with any questions you have.nnI don't always buy large quantities of paint here, but I do always buy my samples here. The large screw top plastic containers are perfect at $6-$8, depending on the current sale. I have completed projects with just the paint sample. It's definitely worth the trip if you're about to tackle a large project for the information alone.

I had a customer service issue at this store and the management team made a prompt and genuine attempt to get it resolved, and did. Mistakes will be made. The mark of great management is how they respond and resolve the issues. I will do business here as often as I can.

I do all my own painting inside and outside. I could go to Home Depot but if I’m going to spend hours/days preparing the area it makes zero sense to buy cheap paint or use the wrong paint or stain simply because it’s on sale. I’ve always gotten the top quality, best paint for my projects at Sherwin-Williams. In Hawai’i we used Dutch Boy paints...but here it’s S-W. There is always the color mixture on the lid if I need to re-paint the three decks I built every few years. Then re-seal the floors of the decks and steps.nnI used to paint landscapes and seascapes in Honolulu,--watercolor and acrylics, but now in land-locked west Georgia, my home is my canvas. I have great pride of place, so when I bought a foreclosed home that had been wrecked by previous owners, I made sure I did a LOT of prep work, even replacing sheet rock and all plumbing before painting. I also made built-in bookshelves and a free standing coat closet, and ripped up all carpet to get to the wood underneath. In Hawai’i I always used Spar polyurethane on the wood trim and helm of my sailboat...as the sun is HOT in Hawai’i. So I used 8 thin layers of similar Spar polyurethane I found at S-W. They understood the incredible variety of brushes for every project. (I use old cotton t-shirts for polyurethane application.)nnIt’s impossible for me to get bored as I have a huge 8 room house to completely re-do. I only use 4 rooms-: master bed and bath, family/dining area and kitchen. But I ALWAYS think of the next person who will occupy the home, so use the best of everything! (Also an acre of land--woods and lawn.)nnGo to S-W especially if you’re an absolute beginner...these are pros who won’t leave you astray!
