Quaker Meeting

This would have been 5 stars, let me explain. I just had my wedding here Sept 28th and it was amazing! Such a great price and it I was the perfect side it was a great last minute decision. It was $250 total for the entire day. $150 was for renting it plus a $100 refundable deposit. I reached out to someone on Facebook about renting this place out and was told the deposit was refundable, that person stopped responding so I emailed them and got a response saying that it was $250 but the $100 deposit was NON-REFUNDABLE. So I emailed back confused asking about that if it was refundable or not because I was told otherwise. Sande had responded letting me know they will honor what was said and would refund the $100 deposit. So we then met with 2 people there to discuss the terms and such, those two people were Sande and Rand. We went and met with them and talked about the expectations like no food upstairs and no alcohol which was a definite bummer because we wanted an open bar, and to clean up after ourselves. So all was said and done I paid the $250 with a REFUNDABLE deposit. Sands told us when we got to the church on the 28th then she would come over and unlock it for us, then when we were done at the church give her a call and she would come lock it up. So we planned on getting to the church at Noon that day but ended up running a few hours late it was raining super bad and we had things to do still. So, I messaged them on Facebook letting them know we were running late. I check my email and see Sande had emailed me saying she has been waiting for our arrival, that was at 1 pm. So I responded back letting her know I was sorry and we were running late. She never told me to hurry up or that she had better things to do then wait around for us. She emailed me at 3 letting me know my videographer was there and then again a few mins later to let me know the officiant was there as well. So we get there about 3:30 pm & Sande then leaves and let's us be for the day. We cleaned that place spotless, we left it in perfect condition, my family and myself and my husband cleaned the entire place AFTER we had just got married. We were tired and wanted to get started on our wedding night. But we stayed and cleaned for so long after the wedding we finally were able to leave around 9 pm. Sande got there and I was expecting her to look around and hand us our $100 cash deposit back, But she didn't and we left. So it's been almost 2 weeks since we were married and we my grandma still didn't receive the deposit back by mail or anything. I then emailed Sande asking about it and she said she would talk to Rand about that and get it to my grandmother. A few weeks go by and my grandma finally received the deposit back but only $40 of it and a nasty letter from Rand about how we wasted Sandes valuable time and she had better things to do then sit there for 4 hours waiting for us, so they paid her $15/hr out of my grandma $100 REFUNDABLE deposit. Which they never ONCE said anything about her being paid to wait for us nor was that in the terms of our agreement to get the deposit back. And there was absolutely no reason for them o have sent my grandma such a rude letter, and we left that place in perfect condition we followed all of their rules and they still robbed my grandma of her $. It was ridiculous! So if you ever want to get married here it isn't awesome, just make sure you get everything in writing.
