I had a great experience at NorthSide Auto Repair. Vinny, the owner, is honest and his prices are very reasonable. He’s not out to take your money and he tells you exactly what’s wrong with your car and what is the most important things to get done first. I’m a college student so this is very helpful since I don’t have a lot of money to drop on all of the repairs at once. He did my wheel bearing and my brakes and rotors in one day. I was back on the road, SAFELY in practically no time. His wife who works the front of the office is friendly too. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for reliable service and great customer service. I’ll be back for all my future car needs.

Though this was some time ago. These guys are disorganized, had me wait half my work day saying that my car would be fixed and I had to come back a few times and they fixed what was wrong at that moment...to then find out that it was installed BACKWARDS. I had to find it out from another place I went to. I definitely would not recommend this auto shop to anyone.

Worst place ever definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone, not even my worst enemy. First they claimed to had run a diagnostic on my vehicle and said it was the clutch. When I said I wouldn't be able to afford to get it fixed at their price at this time and that I would go get it towed out of there. An employee began to persist that we allow him to run a diagnostic to see if it's something else. Cars are not my specialty but how many times does a vehicle need a diagnostic within a day?? Then after I had called for a tow to get it towed; my key were no where to be found. So now they lost my key and I was unable to get my vehicle towed. The owner then has the audacity to make false accusations stating that my brother must have taken the key the previous day whom had only stop there after noticing that the shop had left my vehicles lights on. After, spending time with the owner (Vinnie) and reviewing the video footage of two days while having my kids waiting for me; he (Vinnie) apologized to us and agreed to replace the key and have the vehicle towed to my brother's place. To then again the very next day retract, stating that he is uncertain if the key was really returned and not permitting access to the footage again. He finally agrees to pay for a new key and tows my vehicle all the way across town to replace the key. But abandoning my vehicle at that other location refusing to tow it back to his shop which will cost me less to tow it from. After calling him and requesting that he tows it back where I had left it (at his shop on 774 N. Main St.) since he is refusing to tow it as he had stated; he is now demanding for me to pay for a diagnostic which first he never initially stated I would have to pay or that there was such fee and lastly that I don't even know if it was really performed.

Finding an honest and reliable mechanic is the best thing that can happen to a person. I had every repair and option explained to me and was even told when it was not worth putting money into a car by this shop. From showing me the schematics of my engine and why something wasn't working to coming out after hours so I could pay for my car after my own work day, this place has gone above and beyond. They earn your loyalty and business.
