Holladay Justice Court

Very unethical. The court clerks failed to clearly and understandably provide important information. Although nothing was unjust, in all my experience this court has been the least understanding. I am undoubtedly disappointed in my experience with this justice court.

My story starts about 2 years ago with a 'simple' speeding ticket while I was a teenager. I was on my way to the symphony and dinner in my mothers clean cut new car, trying to impress this insanely cute date I was already slightly late for. Due to my high stress and my hardly worn high heels I was speeding by 'accident'. The officer who pulled me over (I cannot recall her name, although her genuine help was very appreciated at the time) notified me that she must issue me a ticket due to the high volume of calls from the road and to be in compliance with her precinct as she had been stationed to patrol that street specifically. (Not to mention that I LIVED on that very road and was only a couple blocks down the street!) Due to a series of unfortunate events, I dropped the ball and didn't get my ticket paid properly, as I thought I had. Cut to; living in my new apartment in Holladay I had no knowledge that there was a warrant out for me. (This is very common, and not entirely the systems fault) When Deputy J. Woodward stopped by my apartment, and thoughtfully left a card when it was vacant, I called immediately. He (J. Woodward), along with the help of intelligent supervisors and a kind woman I'll call (C) who swiftly returned my message from the Holladay Justice Court, was very helpful and we were able to resolve a 2 year long ticket/warrant/'seeming messy situation' in just 2 days! The best part is I was home for the entirety of it all, which is incredibly valuable during the COVID-19 pandemic. I appreciate all the assistance and I look forward to living in a community I can trust. I am extremely grateful for all of the uprightness assistance the Holladay Justice Court gave to me. -Aspen Andrew

The court was great. Clerks, however, failed to give me bounteous information I needed about how to conclude a case.

Judge Chin is a very respectable and fair judge, he does not take any BS and he has eagle eyes for it but he is very understanding of circumstances and will work with you if you are willing to show effort. Be warned that he also has an iron fist for BS and although I haven't been on the receiving end of that I have witnessed it first hand while sitting in his court room.

I was a little grumpy towards the clerks. As soon as I met the judge I felt the shame of my grumpinesss because he was very proper and pleasant. Just 5 minutes in front of his presence his example persuades me to be a better person. I've never met a judge so pleasant in my entire life. Holladay you've got yourself a great judge. Hopefully he continues to be nice and pleasant years and years to come.
