The Train Station Restaurant

Friday Jazz nights are awesome! Its a small cozy place like a down home juke joint with good food. Just an all together great vibe. The service for the food is slow, but they inform you of that when you arrive. However the musical entertainment more then makes up for it.

I don't know what to say. This was only the second time I visited. I think I made a mistake by asking where the musicians sat(since they're personal friends of mine). I didn't get approached by wait staff to see if I'd like a menu. Finally I ordered something to go (I had to ask) and when I got my check, a drink that one of the musicians ordered was added to my bill. That was strange to me to get billed for something I didn't even order. ud83dudc7f I won't savage them in this Google review because maybe I won't receive more hospitable treatment the next time I come(if I return). So let me begin by saying I wanted to like this restaurant. The location was great being on the water and the nature of the day was great. However, I honestly have to give this review in hopes that they will fix it up. My friends and I decided to drive down from Richmond to enjoy a birthday celebration. We saw they were going to have live music and that they sold seafood so we were all in. We arrived placed our drink orders and order appetizers. It was at this point the night went down hill. So as the waitresses were bringing our apps to the table I noticed they were in paper plates. This caught me off guard because I wasn't at a cookout. This was an establishment where I was paying money to eat. I ordered crab canapies which were basically burnt toast end and sliced cheese. I tasted no crab. For my meal I ordered catfish, shrimp and scallops Mac and cheese and cabbage. The Mac and cheese was horrible catfish was over breaded basically my meal wasn't pleasant and to add to it for it being $26 it was also served on a paper plate. The best thing about the night was the live music being played. We had advised the waitress who was training a young lady we were all separate checks. She in turn still rung us all up together. So we had to wait and additional 45 minutes to get checks because they came to our table 5 times double checking each order. My suggestion to is please rethink your establishment. This place could be a great spot but presentation and value for my money is everything. With this experience I won't ever go back.

We are visiting and came here to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. Everything was lovely, we really enjoyed it and look forward to visiting again.
