Courtyard by Marriott Charlottesville - University Medical Center

This is an excellent hotel near the UVA hospital. It takes approximately five minutes to walk to the hospital from the hotel. There are several fine restaurants nearby, especially the one next door that serves meals earlier in the day farm to table. The staff is kind and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. The bed is comfortable and I LOVE the pillows. You can sign into your own Netflix account or use their cable network, Showtime, or YouTube. The stylish couch is a pullout bed if you have guests. There is regularly a restaurant and bar, but during COVID they are providing simple boxed breakfasts with coffee or OJ. Masks are required once you enter the building from their parking garage (which is very low and tight...my only complaint as I drive a 12 passenger van). Each room has a microwave, iron, hair dryer, extra charging outlets, and fridge. An ice machine is on every floor. Currently, the gym and pool are closed and you are asked to remain in your rooms unless going to your car or the desk. They don't clean the rooms during your stay right now, but will provide fresh linens/towels and take the trash. Like I said, the folks are nice. The hospital patient price was reasonable, though I felt non- patient prices to be a bit much when so many normal amenities were missing. However, the comfort and the kindness and the convenience earn it a solid 4 stars. Highly recommended.

Light in shower area did not work. First thing I did when checking in was cleaning the filters on the a.c. unit that were packed with debris making the air flow very limited. Just need to up maintenance a bit. Overall my experience was a good one. 3 minutes from the hospital which was great...

Cannot say enough good things about this place. Terri & Michelle were super nice and accommodating. Checkout was @ 12:00, but with my wife having a procedure done at the Hospital that was going to take all day there was no place I could hangout until she was ready. So they extended my checkout time a little bit. The rooms were great, comfortable & clean. Parking was close to the room and the motel was only a block away from the Hospital. Thanks to all the staff and to Ann from the Hospital for setting it all up. TV channels or provider could use a little work.

Great location, only steps away from shops at the corner and the UVA campus. However the the best thing about this hotel is the front desk staff. Terry, Hany, and Michelle were always very kind and helpful throughout our extended stay.

Went the extra mile to help with needing to stay longer than checkout. Very considerate staff.
