One of my favorite parks to go to. I love roller skating here under the bridge. I love picnicking and throwing or kicking a ball in the big open field. I love walking a long the trail. I love learning from the history markers here. I love the playground as well. An all around beautiful place to spend a day.
Decent amount of well marked parking, but some days it fills up quick.
Under the bridge, easily accessed from this lot, is WABA’s terrific “learn to ride a bike” course and practice area.nnAlso the only drinking fountain that seems to be operating along the whole Mount Vernon Trail during the COVID-19 pandemic. That valuable public service amenity is truly a life-saver for thirsty trail users.
Depending on when you go, the parking lot may be full. Lots of walking and bike trails under the 395 bridge
Paved parking lot easy to access, beneath the Woodrow Wilson Memorial Bridge. I observed two handicap parking spaces, located closest to the fishing pier. There are two handicap parking spaces in front of the children's play area, located on your left, as you enter the parking lot. Parking is free, with no time limit posted.
