Alexandria Bar Association

I paid $55 for a referral and was told that if there were a conflict (time or other) for the attorney or the attorney was no longer available for other reasons and could not actually provide a consultation, I could contact the Bar Association for a referral until one worked out (for a consultation). The first referral had a conflict with scheduling for my court date (so never provided anything, certainly not a consultation) and the second referral quit practicing law (and actually moved out of the country). When I contacted the Bar Association for the 3rd time, they never responded (still haven't) and never provided another referral, as promised. I would suggest people needing an attorney do their own homework (Google!) and call around/read reviews and NOT use the Alexandria Bar Association.

Lawyer referral hasn't responded to 8 messages left across a 2 week span, and when I paid $55 online, they connected me to a lawyer who may/may not have conflict of interest but couldn't help me. Do I have to pay $55 for every single mismatch?
