Hertz at South Pickett Street has done me no wrong. I switched to Hertz after a competitor doubled my bill with changing, dubious explanations (a month-long battle that I lost). With Hertz, the price shown when I have reserved my car online is the price I've paid both times in the end--a welcome change from the shadier dealings of Company Whose Name Will Not Be Mentioned. I neither expect nor desire luxury when I rent cars--just something solid, reliable, with good gas mileage, that's going to get me to my destination, and South Pickett provided me with that. Would like to see the return of in-car navigation systems, but I suppose the times they are a changin', and people use their own phones now. Rent from South Pickett, drive a few short miles to the interstate, and hit the road.

I received my vehicle quickly through the professional at hertz. She also gave me option on where to park my personal vehicle. The whole experience was easy and effortless.

It’s hard to find this place. There is one lady at the counter who is on the phone and doesn’t have the decency to address the customer proper way.nnThey don’t have many choices of car either, this lady at the counter has no clue about the process of renting a car. I wouldn’t go here to rent a car again. They provide very cheap price for renting a car that can pull you towards renting a car here but don’t fall for it.nnThey were some unnecessary charges on my account, which I happened to discover and later when I reached out to the customer service, they were like we can’t do anything. There was a wrong amount charged, I had the receipt and I happen to send it to them, after reviewing everything. I was told, they were right and I was wrongnnWhen I rented the car, I was supposed to pay $160 plus tax, when I returned the car, they charged me $250 plus toll fees. When I dropped of the car it was like a new car. This is ridiculous.

They had very limited options for vehicles to choose from. They vehicles they did have were not clean. The car i picked up was dirty from outside and had a distinctive smell inside. It was vacuumed inside but the smell was quite disgusting. So I went back and switched the car with another car which didn't have a smell but had a stain on the back seat and once again not washed from outside. I pointed out the stain on the back seat and the sales representative said thats what we got so yeah.

My customer experience at this location, specifically with Joanne, was so unprofessional that it warrants a corporate-level complaint. As a company, Hertz has serious deficiencies honoring confirmed reservations, accurately tracking inventory, and communicating real time from overseas call centers to local branches - all to the detriment of customers who do business with Hertz in good faith.nnThe response to these corporate-wide failures at this local branch - no acknowledgement of responsibility; no apology for egregious errors and inconvenience; zero offers to assist; zero professionalism; zero ability to problem solve; stunning level of incompetence and complete lack of care.nnUnacceptable on every single point of service - total failure.nnNegative stars should be an option for this branch, plus free trauma counseling.
