As a Boston native now living in NOVA that knows Irish bars, I gotta say Daniel O'Connell's was extremely impressive! The first sign that I knew I was in a quality Irish bar- hearing an Irish accent from the waiter.nnThat aside, everything from atmosphere to the beer selections are top notch here. Not to mention their delicious burgers and perfectly cooked onion rings- an absolute must if you're in Old Town Alexandria!

First night, absolutely awesome! Service was amazing, 4 different people asked how we were/if needed anything. Split the food with a friend, enjoyed an Irish coffee. Decided to stop by the next night for a drink with a larger group (5 of us) and service was terrible. We were walked by, ignored and took forever to get the drinks. I could understand if they were busy, but they weren't. Maybe it was an off night. Would go back, definitely.

Service is usually very good. (I've had a rude server a couple times..same guy). Love the cozy atmosphere but also lots of seating choices. There's even a fireplace. Food is also delicious

O’Connell’s is not only one of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat and favorite Irish bars, it’s one of the best places to dine during these trying times. The staff and customers traversing the restaurant all wear masks, and all the tables are responsibly distanced. There have been heaters for the cold weather which was great when I ate out on the rooftop patio last week. The super bowl specials were great too, loved having the chance to try out the boneless wings!!nThe lamb burger is my go to order though, and the Guinness pours are always impeccable.

This is my favorite bar in town, I was just in last night and the service was impeccable as usual. Paul is very friendly and on top of the ball at all times, he remembered us after our first time in and we haven’t changed up since! Can’t wait for the weather to get nice again so we can use the outdoor patio. Cheers
