I am so happy with the care I have received at Hawaii Family Dental. Dr. Sullivan, Jeff (hygienist) and the rest of the staff are amazing. I actually look forward to my appointments because they do such an incredible job. My treatments at HFD have always been painless and stress free - and that includes a root canal! Seriously! I *highly* recommend HFD.

Dr. Barry Sullivan no showed twice on me! The first time he blew off my appointment with him, I was told he left sick. I ended up having to pay $45 out of pocket to see another dentist for my 6 month cleaning exam.nnThis morning I had another appointment scheduled with Dr. Barry Sullivan. Since this office has made careless mistakes in the past, I decided to call the office and make certain Dr Barry would be in. When I called at 9:50am I was assured he would be in the office for my appointment at 2pm.nnI drove over 80 miles and 3 hours round trip only to discover Dr. Barry Sullivan once again went home sick. The incompetent staff could not find the decency to call me to let me know the doctor would not be in.nnI requested to see the office manager, Jessica. I waited 23 minutes for Jessica, only to have her not show up.nnSince Dr Barry seems to be sick quite often, I suspect he’s either the sickest dentist on Hawaii Island or a chronic drug abuser. Either way, my trust in this pathetic office has been broken.nnWould not recommend.

As a new patient, I have made two visits so far. Both times, I've received excellent care with clear and generous explanations from my dentists: Dr. Barry Sullivan and Dr. Erik Strommer. I also appreciate very much the most prompt and courteous attention that I've received from their assistants and staff.

Dr. Colleen Sullivan and her assistant were awesome. They explained what they were going to do almost every step along the way. They made me feel calm. The office staff are friendly and professional. Thank you!
