St Benedict Catholic Church

Very interesting active church. Read the caption above each painted panel. There us also an interesting graveyard, bathrooms and the original steeple. Also donate if you can.nThe church asks you register your visit so they can continue get funding from the state.

The Painted Church was very unique as it was built in the 1800's and still holds church services. The church has the original paintings painted on the wall from the very first Priest who taught the Hawaiian people. The admission is free and there is even an old graveyard out back. Check for hours of operation and its a special piece of Hawaiian history to see. Great spot for pictures too

Part of the history and culture of 19th century Hawaii is well preserved in this church. The surrounding grounds are well kept and signs will help you identify plants.
