Unbelievable!!!!! Must visit to feel what we felt. Be mindful of surroundings as every piece tells a story, leaves, stones, twigs, trees, flowers and shrubs... carry a light rain jacket and definitely take the trail to steam vents, it’s a small hike and totally worth it. Every flora and fauna is different, visit in day time and visit back closer to sunset. It has its charm, you see the lava in sunset. Just let the nature speak to you... I went with my 8 year old n he was very curious but I distracted him by focusing on listening to how many different kinds of birds he can hear, what different plants he see which he has never seen, pick up trash if he see any and stay quite - longer he stays quiet bigger will be the reward. He earned a large chocolate cake slice. Must visit!!!

Amazing view! Super windy so bring a coat. You can go through a lava tunnel that was amazing! Took us about three hours but we did not go through the whole volcano park. We saw a big crater that is the main attraction. You can see cool animals too, stop by and you will see the most beautiful things!!!

What an amazing and awesome experience. Highly, highly recommend!! Absolutely worth the drive and the time for this adventure ud83cudf0bnnThere was a wait and a line of cars, which was not bad though, about 10-15 minutes-ish.nnOnce we parked and headed over everyone took their turn, wore masks when out walking around, and turned off any lights at the viewing area so you could really see.nnOkay, lava and stars in the sky.nnThe stars lighting the sky and the glow from the lava were rad as all get out. I felt so completely small looking at the stars, they were so close and bright! It felt like I could reach out and run my fingers through them, so cool. The glow from the lava was dim at first, but once we got out to the viewing area and all the lights were out, it was so bright, such a deep orange with smoke stacks rising up all around. I never thought I'd see something like this in person. If you can make the trip, I would.nnHappy Adventures ud83cudf4dnnSide note: it's cold up there so bundle up if you plan on getting out of your vehicle.

Great place to visit on the Big Island. The steam vents ate nice. The lava glow at night is very cool. There are great places to take pictures during the day. Devestsation Trail was cool. Plan to spend at least 4 hours to do a quick pass through. You can come back for 7 days with one pass.
