What an amazing experience!!! At first I thought $40 was expensive per person for only an hour tour. But our guide was very knowledgeable and we had over an hour to touch the octopus. They were very friendly, I think we were able to touch about 6 different ones. It was so interesting to see how each animal had their own personalities. Best experience on the big island! Also very kid friendly.
Truly an awesome experience! One of my favorite things on the Big Island. You get to fead and touch the octopus. Your admission goes directly towards the research of these amazing creatures. The smartest animal without a backbone. Would highly recommend.
Dan was an amazing guide! He described the octopus lifestyle and challenges in hatching and raising these amazing animals. The hands on experience is truly one-of-a-kind. Beware of your GoPro - Veronica got into my waterproof case in matter of seconds! Awesome footage to share with my family and friends. Thanks to the Kanaloa Octopus Farm team!
Should have said more about this when I originally reviewed it- this place is amazing. It's not really a farm, more a research center with the aim of protecting wild octopuses (that are caught for food) by studying their life cycles. You can touch and feed them while learning a lot. This was my favorite activity on this island during my stay
This is totally worth the price. You will get to touch octopus, play with them, have them try to suck you into their tank, feed them...all so amazing. I barely heard anything the biologist said because I was so focused on playing with the octopus. But I’m sure he was very knowledgeable and interesting.
