Great little place for quick get away. Family friendly (not the hike if you have kids smaller than 8). Around 2 hrs drive from Portland, OR. You can take the small hike close to 1.2 mile along the river where you get to see the waterfall up close as well as the abandon power house which was established around 1900 to generate hydro electricity. There are Picnic benches of you decided to have a snack. Amount of parking spots are limited but due to close proximity of the waterfall from the parking lot (close to 200 yards) you will always find vacant spots.
This was an easy walk to the falls. From the parking lot to the fence line. And then it had another short hike but very ruff and very rocky so be careful. There are picnic tables and bathroom there too. We enjoyed it.
Beautiful place to visit
Gorgeous! Awesome for those who don’t want to hike, but there is also a trail down to the old building by the river if you want to explore.
Much more impressive falls than I expected. Cool old dam structure as well. Looking forward to going back during the off season to explore more.
