RISE Academy for Adult Achievement

I dropped out of school in the 9th grade and at 21 I went back to school I wanted the education not a GED. This was a great place to land. I remember the teachers being so patient with me as I was functionally illiterate. I graduated in 1994 and have been a life long learner since then. Thank you is not enough for the gift I received. It's never to late.

I love this school!! The entire staff is very kind, encouraging, helpful and patient. They are literally the pot of gold it’s not one life situation they won’t and can’t work around they help you with anything!! they will let you know they are here for you. You will feel very welcome after the first day maybe even after orientation, I can’t stress this enough about how amazing this school is I love it I love it I love it and because of them I’m graduating!!! I would recommend this school to ANYBODY! We all are family haven’t seen, heard or had one rude comment or person everybody is amazing.

This school could teach a thing or two to Washoe County School DistrictnIn the matter of 4 months I learned a lot more then a full semester in Public School.nAlthough my prior school had amazing teachers a lot of new teachers came into play, to say the least a lot of children were left behind.nnAt Rise i felt like an adult but still had that hand on my shoulder when I started falling behind.nRise isn't just a school to finish up, it shows you in a very corporate and rigid world there is still hope. To say the least I felt like an actual human being to this institution.

When I was here I experienced more bad then good. I had a teacher her name was Ms.Itani in summer she is a really bad teacher. She did not teach very well she did not grade my final even though I did it. She gave me the grade she wanted to give me. I did all my work and she said that I had things missing. I had gone every day to school and she said I was missing days.I recommend no one here because she is a really bad teacher.

I got my HiSET through RISE and the people here were more than helpful in my pursuit of my HiSET and encouraged me all the way! Awesome people! Awesome place!
