Galena Creek Fish Hatchery

An unexpected little surprise just outside Reno. Galena is beautiful and definitely worth a stop if you're headed up to the Lake on Mount Rose Highway. Oh, and think about wetting a line or two here at the trout pond here when they stock it in the spring. You're welcome.

ill let yall fishermen and women know a trick.. but please be mindful of how much you take and go...use corn or salmon eggs preferably orange eggs and use just a hook and line thread maybe 2 or 3 depending on hook size i generally use 12ot with one or two eggs and cast it about 7 or 10 ft from the other side of the dock side and youll catch em back to back gauranteed because the bobber or weight scares them because theyre figity but a small splitshot will work fine for during warmer parts of days when theyre deeper. worms work too and other baits but this method will produce a fish every cast from my experience and you may even see me there at points fishing from the dock or the otherside catching them back to back so dont ask what my secret is. its simple.just bait and line with a hook amd best line to use is between 1 to 4 lb mono
