The museum was closed when we visited but still worth a visit. This historic 4 story public school used to house 1000 students is designed in 1876. Also it’s the entrance to Virginia City.

So much history! One can feel the souls of past inhabitants and sit in the little school desks. Virginia City is a marvelous place to visit and explore.

Thrilled to return to Virginia City after 25 years and see that this magnificent building has been restored. A must-visit for those interested in daily life and the history of prominent VC residents. Videos, artifacts, and photos help this landmark come alive! Loved it!
