My wife and I met Mackenzie (Best tattoo artist ever), over 3 years ago at a tattoo convention in Milwaukee, Wi. At that time we were just two slightly sane people, with no tattoos and no clue of what we wanted on our bodies.nFor 3 years we communicated back and forth with McK and this year, on our 8th anniversary we did it. We had stopped in many shops over the past years wondering if any of the artists would be as down-to-earth or as genuinely interested in our ideas. What we got were gruff men, an attitude like we should know what we want, and some very manipulative behavior to mold any of our ideas to fit what those artists wanted to actually put on our bodies.nMackenzie is far and away worth the waiting list you will encounter. We will exclusively wear Mackenzie’s art on our bodies and no one else.nOur art is McK’s original concepts. My wife has a rooted Gladius flower showing she will always remember to stay grounded and to be strong. An unfinished woman on the top shows a woman still blooming still and forever growing. McK created this design from a small paragraph written by my wife because my sweet love was just overwhelmed trying to find the proper image.nMy tattoo is of a small boy cowering in fear and sadness. And a protector standing strong filled with anger towards those that abuse children or anyone that cannot protect themselves. I was diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder last year. The big guy is actually an alter of mine named Rage. The boy is me as a child. I have 2 more stages to complete this tattoo. I'm scheduled with McK twice more and my art will be complete at the end of December. It will display my army of alters standing behind Rage ready to do battle with all injustice as well as the coloring in of this to be, masterpiece.nWe receive compliments everyday on our tattoos. And my back tattoo is a show stopper, conversation starter and PSA to stop abusing children. Two men have approached me with welled eyes and told me the power my art had on them. How they were severely abused and how much respect and awe they had taking in this art.nDo I actually need to tell you this is a 5 star review? It’s a 10! I love Tattoo Nouveau. We started going to McKenzie when they were at their old location in the smoke shop in Green Bay, and we still go to her in Bellevue now. Except for one, all of my tattoos have been done by McKenzie. I will only go to her because she has such clean line work and specializes in watercolor, which is my favorite. I don't think I could go to another artist or shop, honestly.
