I have conducted business with VMS for over 30 years. Their expertise with expatriate and domestic taxes is by far the best in the business. Their commitment to the client is profound. They are very knowledgeable, responsive, friendly and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them.

I have to say that I have been doing business with VMS for over 15 years and they have always been extremely professional and fair. I trust them to prepare my returns and secure copies are always sent to me electronically.

Like most lawyers, they are charming, and then do as little work as possible for the most amount of money. That part is normal, it is the lack of expertise that is concerning.nnI had relatively straightforward tax situation that involved another country. Since I wanted to make sure all my paperwork was in order I decided to hire someone with more expertise than my usual tax preparer.nI suppose that the habit of billing in ten minute increments for extremely slow email reading is probably endemic in the legal business, but it is still not something to be commended. The final tally for how much their tax preparation cost me was far beyond what the combination of expertise and time spent should have. I do very much feel like I was nickeled and dimed beyond that which is reasonable.nnBut perhaps most discouraging was when I had the correct the tax preparer on a very basic issue of who counts as a dependent in our current tax code. I happened to know the answer because I was auditing a basic tax course at the time. Had I not, one of my dependents would have been missed. So from my perspective, I paid much money for the services of someone who wasn't even fully versed on basic tax law. I still wonder if perhaps there was some cost saving mechanism they missed .nnIn general, not recommended.

What these guys do is to collect all your personal information and won't respond you again. If you ask one thing, it takes years and still won't do anything. Also, they are not knowledgeable for what they claim for their expertise. You may end up with failure or unsuccessful result of your goal if you have them involved in your case.nnThey'll play game with you and wait for you to give up and leave. To protect yourself, I'd strongly suggest to not contact for anything, nor provide them with any information of yours. Worst firm experience ever, who knows what they'll do with your info. Please be careful with them.
