My son was the only African American in the 7th grade. The school went out there way to keep him down! When i went to enroll him, the Secretary asked if i owned or rented my home. As if that matters. She went to remind me that falsifying my address is against the law. I reminded her that African American s do more then eat watermelon. We work and go to school so we don't have to lie about our residence.Even though he was in the honor program at his old school Ms. Fisher put him in class 711. I made numerous calls trying to explain the class is to slow and my son is getting lazy, i was told that one reason why they keep him there is because he helps the other kids. My son is a student not a teacher. Why should tutor when he can be given extra assigments. Intried speaking to the principal and she never returned any of my calls. I am putting him back in his old school. Where skin color is not a factor in education.
