This is to review Sklawyers pllc, Hampton and the multiple mistakes made by their firm during a simple deed closing for probate.  We were in constant contact with the office via email and phone. The first mistake was our address, a simple mistake, corrected and forgotten.  The second time the same mistake appeared, I emailed and the document was corrected again. The third time the same mistake happened was on a different document. I was astonished this same mistake happened yet again. Another upsetting incident occurred via a telephone call to me as I was exiting a business.  The legal assistant called me and I didn't hear what she said next. The next thing I heard her say was ‘the certified receipt was not received’.  I was confused as our closing was complete. I asked who they were calling.  It was a different client -  I explained she had the wrong client and told her she should have verified who she was calling.  The next day the attorney called and left an apology on our voicemail. The next potential costly mistake was the fact that the escrow check did not make it to closing on time.   SKlawyers had the check in escrow for over 3 months.  They sent the check to the closing title attorney via FedEx the day before the closing on Jan 29.  Weather delayed the FedEx arrival and the actual closing had to be postponed. Weather delay is understandable but the check should have been forwarded to the closing atty as soon as the closing date was set which was at least 2 days prior. This caused the closing attorney more work and could have cost the estate additional fees had we not agreed to delay the transfer of funds till the new year. Also at closing, Sklawyers forwarded our invoice to the closing attorney and asked that it be paid at closing.  The estate had not YET received this invoice nor were we informed they were submitting it at closing for payment.  The closing attorney notified us and we paid it immediately via check noting our frustration that it was not emailed prior to closing. The closing attorney also emailed that it should have been submitted to us prior to closing and had we not agreed to pay it via estate check it would have forced a revised ALTA document and more work for the closing attorney.  The transfer of funds to the estate was delayed due to this.  Atty Bradshaw believes this dispute is the result of whether or not her presence was required at closing.  I explained both in phone calls to her and her assistant that her presence would not be required as the buyer is a realtor and would handle the closing at the title company. It was also discussed that the title company may be using a software program for closing, which was beside the point of Atty Bradshaw’s presence at closing. We expressed dissatisfaction to Sklawyers and received a reply that a 20% discount would be agreeable as SKlawyers 'never wants a dissatisfied client.' On that correspondence, our name was incorrect.  That was the final frustration...we agreed that the 20% would be acceptable to the estate and this would go no further.  We have not received the client 'dissatisfaction refund check.'  A simple closing was turned into a very frustrating experience by hiring SKlawyers, Hampton, NH.nnedit 8/12/20 we have since received the dissatisfaction check dated July 14. I had to laugh when I looked at the envelope as the address was upside down, the stamp upside down and on the wrong side...I believe that this was done intentionally.

Melissa Zani did a great job setting up our personal estate documents. We've now got the Trust, Medical Powers of Attorney, etc. She was very patient with our questions. This firm has also helped me with some business legal matters. My experience has been consistently positive.
