Nice place to wander, get exercise or start a bike tour. If open, there is a visitor's center with restrooms. Walk or ride your bicycle on the Paul Bunyan Trail. Have some good coffee and a skone at Lake's Latte or visit close by businesses. Close as in walking distance. Occasional activities, pandemic permitting. Oh, check out Lucky's Tavern for a good meal.

It's great Pequot put this in place years ago. Nice forward thinking. Perfect spot for access north & South
