For the price, this is a very nicely set up museum. There's an obviously heavy focus on Marquette itself, but also a fair amount toward the overall UP history of indigenous people and even a bit of prehistoric land formation. It's cool to see the local pieces of history like items from ship wrecks, sports memorabilia, and local yearbooks (some vintage yearbooks are for sale in the gift shop).nnI did not visit, but there's a research library on site. Currently, it requires an appointment for use, but it adds an academic air to the museum. Currently, a special exhibit focuses on the recreation history of the area: diving, skiing, biking, running, etc. It's another neat touch to learn about the area.
