Walker Police Department

Very professional department! They respond to medicals as well which really reduces the response time from when you call 911 to when help arrives. For a city this size, which also has their mix of rental properties, apartment complexes, and trailer parks (not to stereotype, but that's where a majority of crime happens) Walker PD does a great job of keeping the crime rates low.

I'm an old veteran, and what that police officer did to me was wrong.nI was out in my front yard, called in on a suspicious activity down the road, lady on the phone asked my address which was a bit odd.nGave it to her anyways, then the policeman came two hours late and yelled at me.nCalled me an effing liar, put me in cuffs, my kids were crying, they dragged me out to the squad car drove me around the block a couple times, made some threats.nThen they let me go, I was pretty confused about it afterwards. Wont be calling them for anymore emergencies, figure I just take care of it myself.

I have been considering a career in law enforcement and I contacted the Walker City Police Department to request a ride along. They allowed me the opportunity to ride with Officer Andrew Jeltema and were kind enough to find a time that best fit my schedule. Officer Jeltema and the rest of the staff were informative and helpful. It was truly a pleasure to watch the officers at work. I walked away from this experience with more insight into the field. As a Walker resident, I feel very confident knowing that my safety is in the hands of this incredible team. Thank you Walker PD for your service to our area and for allowing me this opportunity!

TO much TO detail of the unkind treatment however only one walker police gentleman and he was a gentleman out of a problematic society situation deems me homeless getting back to THAT gentleman did do a act of kindness one day as I was at the rapid bus terminal at Meijer on alpine sleeping did give me a wool blanket well done to him he's the only law enforcement officer from kent county sheriff's to ALL the law enforcement officials that actually did something right from ALL MY family abuse that the law didn't protect me back THEN they wouldn't touch the family that abused me on 6mile and Biddeford and I truly was innocent and the family wrong getting back to THAT walker officer I would like to truly thank him if I ever get a chance again he's the only one with a heart due to MY true faith in Jesus Christ I truly thank him TO all little more truth from Grandville police TO Kentwood police TO state police I have experienced the law enforcement officials even a one time encounter from the fbi the truly aren't the good guys if they only look at the reviews because it's the truth the law enforcement isn't the good guys like I said earlier to much TO explain one last truth this goes to the corrupt Mel trotter when that roof leaks when it rains it puddles the bunked to other matters that they don't want exposed remember earlier problematic society

Doesn't handle suicidal cases very well. Gets butt hurt and presses charges days later. Didn't make sure I was okay or ride with me to hospital. Hit me in the face 5 times while being restrained and handcuffed chest down on the ground for 45 minutes. Very immature officers.
