Beautiful school with great facilities. I've traveled as a guest speaker to several funeral service colleges and was blown away by the following:nn*The students seemed happy, friendly, and cleared enjoyed being there.n*The place was CLEAN. Up-to-date and nicely maintained inside and out. My old boss at the funeral home would have been proud.n*The faculty were all very friendly, and most of them were notable experts who I had read about (or read their articles/books) in a variety of concentrations.nnI've seen to plenty of other mortuary science programs, but this one is widely known in the industry as being the place to go if you want a really good chance of getting employed straight out of college and being hired based on reputation and skill set. A former graduate I worked with told me that they do all of their embalming practicals at the Cook County morgue, which would be an amazing experience in and of itself. Would recommend to anyone who is considering entering school and becoming a funeral director.

Worsham college is the best. They prepare you for the National Board Exam and help you find a job. Most of the teachers are funeral directors, and they always have great real-life examples.

Great school, My father and I both are alumni. I can't say enough good how they care for the proffesion. I highly recommend anyone going into the field to consider attending Worsham College.

worsham is awful (03/20/2016)

This is quite possibly the worst school, the worst curriculum, and the poorest quality teachers and leaders. The profession of embalming is nearly over, which poses a problem for new grads. It is the worst profession to attempt to get into in Illinois especially. There are hardly any apprenticeships in the Chicago area, so unless you're able to relocate to the countryside and work for $9 an hour for a year or so, you won't ever be licensed in Illinois. You must serve an apprenticeship within its borders. Those are the rules. The IDFPR regulates licensing and you cannot serve outside Illinois and then return. You will not be successful despite the promises of this school or its founders. As of 2016, the school is owned by a corporation, and no longer run by the inept founder's daughter or her terrible husband, but it's still simply no good.
