Great park/reserve. It has at least 3 parking areas at its main entrance. It has bathroom areas, trash bins, the playground which is down the road once you go through the main entrance is nice. It has two levels separated by a rock staircase. The top for younger kids and the bottom for older kids. It has lots of baby swings, one toddler swing, and at least 3 normal swings. Some of the pavillions have large grilling stations.

Playground for the kids, very nice paths through the woods, nice relaxing place. I think it's wheelchair friendly also. I don't remember seeing any obstacles.

The playground was appropriate for any age group from young toddler on and quite large! Sand pit, climbing, slides, swings, ramps. The trails are beautiful prairie paths. Beautiful views even from the playground.

Well maintained trails, beautiful setting. Would like to see hikers respecting the single file rule when passing others.

I have visited Heron Creek Forest Preserve on a few occasions now for a short walk along the trails. Although the fine gravel pathways tend to be pretty dusty they are all evenly paved and taken care of to the same degree as the rest of the preserve. Overall this is a pretty nice open space that I can recommend if you want to spend some time outdoors.
