I have worked at Eva Carlston for almost 3 years and I have loved it! It is a very rewarding job, but it is a hard line of work to last in because it requires good problem solving skills and thick skin. The company offers great benefits to their employees and shows understanding for the difficulty of the job. I have personally seen the program change the lives of many young women and their families. The teaching family model used by all the staff offer the youth consistency in their environment. When the young women and their parents trust in the process it is amazing to see the work from the clinical team, the academic team and the milieu team come together to produce positive change.

Eva Carlston helped our daughter and our family immensely. We chose Eva because of all the programs we looked at, I got the sense (which proved to be correct) that our daughter would not fall through the cracks there. She really knows how to be "under the radar" so that was a big concern of mine... that she would slide under the radar and just tell the therapists what she thought they wanted to hear. That did not happen at Eva. I cannot say enough how the talented, committed staff of Kristi, the therapists, the family teachers, the academic teachers--everyone there--gives so much to the girls every day. Our daughter went to wilderness and then to Eva. She did not want to go at all of course. She fully admits now that it helped her so much. Plus, she made some very solid friendships and was able to graduate high school on time. We see the changes in her daily life and are so thankful for Eva. I cannot imagine what her life might have been if she had not gone there.

This place is the opposite if therapy. I don't think most parents want their child to be reprimanded for crying on a parent call, forced to eat all their food for breakfast in 10 minutes, and torn down on a daily basis. The PTSD this place has caused my stepdaughter is inhumane and a crime. I am confident that Eva will be investigated and I am sure they will take this review down as they have so many. This place acts more like a cult than aftercare. Still in shock and disgusted. Our family has been traumatized by this shameful “after care”. After making gains at wilderness out child got completely verbally and mentally abused. I give it 30 days or less before their tech team takes this down.

I once knew someone who attended ECA for a bit, and although I may only be able to speak from an outsiders perspective, I am almost positive that they were brainwashed and treated poorly there. The way the person acted upon return was very concerning. It also seems like this place knows that it’s able to take advantage of the more privileged person’s money. In the time since, I have read countless other girls stories and I feel comfortable in at the very least saying that I do not think the way ECA is presenting things to the public is perhaps how they really are. I am sure there are some good staff, but it seems that the program/school is inherently flawed. Parents, I would be cautious and really look into what is happening here. I am not at a place I can give this place a 1 star because it was not my experience, but I did want to share. If anyone was negatively impacted by this place, know that I stand with you. I hope this school takes the complaints of past students and associates seriously and takes action to make this an actual safe space.

ECA literally helped save my daughter's life. It was not an easy year by any means, but with patience, compassion, insight, expertise and love they helped her pull through a very difficult time in her life. Sometimes one needs to look below the surface to find the true value in a program that RTC's such as ECA offer. Kudos to all the staff there. Thank you ECA.
