Handled my dad's cremation last year. Very compassionate and didn't try to upsell. Now that I am not in such a vulnerable place, this really means a lot, especially because I have seen it happen to so many others. Thank you.

Toughest thing is to have to say goodbye to your loved one. Losing father after a long illness made me realize that no one is every ready for such goodbye, but having the assistance of the people who with outmost respect and dignity help make transition bearable is essential in such moments. Thank you!

My family and I THOUGHT that shipping my father-in-law's remains would be a logistical nightmare. NOT SO with this awesome family-owned funeral home.nnDad passed away unexpectedly 10 days ago from the day I write this review. It was his family's wish to hold his funeral and burial in the Philippines thus requiring his remains be prepared and preserved for the long flight home.nnJim was very professional, personal and very understanding of our situation. Very patient as I had to relay my father-on-law's family's questions to Jim as I had to translate for them.nnJim worked with us giving us options on services and working with us on pricing as we were paying out of our pockets since my Dad had no insurance.nnIt was a tight schedule. Having to fly out of Chicago before Dad's remains did was difficult and nerve-racking but Jim did as he said and kept a us posted on paperwork and flight updates via e-mail. What a genuinely nice guy all throughout!nnThe most recent update was this morning (Philippine time) saying that Dad's flight took off and that the first leg of the journey had begun.nnI will post and update of this review when we've Dad's remains.nnA heartful THANK YOU to Jim and everyone at Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home for making this difficult time easier !nnGod bless you all.
