Very informative museum. No charge. Lots of exhibits that explain the lock and dam system on the Mississippi River and how river traffic transports materials and goods. Several interesting interactive exhibits. Staff very helpful. They have 3 tours per day of the lock and dam; however because it was a 5-degree day we elected to skip. Bald eagles can be observed feeding from the waters below the dams. A bald eagle nest can be seen just east of the museum; staff had a scope trained on the nest during our visit. We plan to visit again on another day when not so cold and tour the lock and dam.

We were actually eagle watching in the area on this day and decided to stop in. I did not know how complex a system was in place in this area regarding erosion and water control. Very cool place to learn about how all the locks, dams and dikes work together to be able to allow barge traffic on the Illinois, Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. Didn't get to take the full tour due to COVID restrictions.

Very good educational exhibits. Only complain is that the movies and tours are not run constantly, and there isn't a schedule posted. However, I got to see part of the eagles documentary and it was very interesting, inspiring and instructional.

Nice to take the grandkids to see the locks and barges. Nice small museum.

This was a wonderful experience. My mom and I stopped here on our way to Grafton. It was very interesting, informative, and very educational. Due to Covid we were not able to go into the actual lock but our tour guides were very good and informative. Lots of interesting things to see.
