Good choices great ham. All the comfort foods plus.. Great dessert. And awesome chicken wings. Salad bar is nicenHomemade ice cream white cake cobblers. Pretty good. Sometimes a little behind on food and their is a waite. Check times cause they are not always open.. Great place.

A warm and pleasant atmosphere, tucked away from the masses in a wooded setting, very nice. The wait staff were genuinely friendly and courteous. The assorted foods we're all excellent and the dessert, especially the homemade ice cream made the meal complete. I highly recommend this restaurant for their excellent 'home cooking' .

Food wasn't bad but not like it was when we went there before. No icecream and the peach cobbler was terrible. Might just have been one of those days lots of people was there it could have been me

This has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. It's an hour and a half drive, but it has always been worth it (until 4/10/21). I mention the date in case the place was manned that day by substitutes for some temporary reason unknown to me. Hopefully, the real chef and the real manager will be returning soon.nnHere's what happened. The day after the mask mandate ended, the restaurant employees chose to go maskless, setting out buffet food and moving about the dining area maskless. Fortunately, most of the patrons continued wearing masks while dishing up their buffet food.nnWe got there as the restaurant opened, my wife and sister went to the restroom as we arrived. They said it had not been cleaned and was nasty with trash everywhere, apparently from the night before.nnThe food, normally just outstanding, was not up to past standards. The fried chicken livers and country fried steak were dry and overcooked. The rest of what I ate was good, but wife, sister, and niece also had at least one dish that didn't meet their usual standards.nnBecause this could just be a fluke, an off day due to employee illness or something I don't know about, I will take this review down in a few days. My purpose is not to hurt their business, but to get management's attention so we can have The Old Cook Stove back again.
