Labor Day Expierience PackagenWe went with our son and his friend. They are both 16. We were lucky enough to get rooms for Friday and Saturday. We arrived after dark on Friday. It's hard to read the brown direction signs with the yellow text inside the park...at least for me. I had a basic idea of the park layout so we were able to find the lodge in no time. check in was easy and we were given our bag with two bottles of water, a nice beach towel with their logo and papers on the weekend activites. we booked in the kline wing of the Wilson lodge. it was built in 1966 so it was dated, but it's still nice. it's real wood paneling. the second floor room had a door into the interior corridor. the other door opened to ground level with two lawn chairs facing a sidewalk and another wing. the room width is small enough that one side of the bed had maybe 6 inches before reaching the wall. that made it hard to exit the bed on that side. the bathroom is narrow with no door between the shower/tub toilet area and the sink. the shower tile is that old yellow tile. it's clean though and has good water pressure and plenty of hot water. there are two robes hanging. we used them to walk to the pool. it was shorter to get to the pool walking on the sidewalk out the ground level door. you pass by a giant chess board and a fire pit with nice seating. the indoor pool is nice with lots of live olants, a hot tub that easily fit 9 and a sauna. there are also towels in the pool area. the pool area was busy and a fun atmosphere. I didn't hear any other guests when we were in our room. the morning brunch was delicious. there was lots of food to choose from: omelet bar, bacon, sausage, potatoes, blintz, fresh fruit, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, bread, muffins/cinnamon rolls, sausage gravy and biscuits, french toast/pancakes, juice, coffee, milk, scrambled eggs, ham. well worth it. it runs from 6:30 until 11. the trolley was easy to use. you just need to say let me off here. we visited the revolutionary camp that was there for the weekend. we went to the pool at the crispen center. the pool is large, but you can tell it's an old facility. the changing area 100% needs an upgrade. I'm not super picky, but it was dark, damp and moldy. they just need to gut it and start over. I was hoping for a locker for my purse, but I didn't find one. the good zoo wasn't a hit with me. it's much smaller that I thought it would be. they had three lorakeets to feed. they were so full of nectar by the time we got there lol. younger kids would enjoy it and it's a nice walk. the teenagers said the ropes course looked small so they did min golf instead. I never actually saw it so I can't say much about it. it was nice to have no pressure to pay for each thing since we had the wristbands...it was actually a credit card with my name and booking info on it. the four of us were able to use the two cards with no additional money. the website said it was for two kids and we could buy two more for a discounted rate. that was unnecessary. the kids wanted to try the segway, but I think they only had four of them and did four tours a day so naturally they were booked. we ate at the Glassworks area...I forget the exact name... on our first night. the burgers were delicious. the second night we ate at route 88 bbq. very good food, but it's a limited menu to meat and carb filled sides lol. the kids really liked the driving range. they were able to do the par 3 golf course for free because of our wristbands. there was a singer outside we listened to while the kids did the range. there was a fire pit, but it looked like it hadn't been used in a while and there was no wood nearby so that was disappointing. it was breezy and the fire would have been a welcome addition. there was a fire in the courtyard near the indoor pool which was nice to see. the next day we went to wheeling park and used the pool, mini golf and 9 hole course. it was and enjoyable trip for a reasonable rate.nnShow less
