I visit family in Wheeling every few months and always make sure we have a dinner or lunch at Later Gator when I’m in town. I have had several different sandwiches which have all been amazing. Their sweet potato tacos are also super good and I actually have recreated this recipe at home and make it pretty frequently. Cool decorations inside and they have a beautiful back patio seating as well. This is my favorite restaurant in Wheeling

Good food a bit high on prices for serving size we felt. Service was great. Restaurant was small but had a great atmosphere. There was patio seating in the back that wasn't being used at the time but there were patio heaters back there too.

Randomly found this place on our way out to Cabela's and we were so impressed! Everything tasted amazing. The atmosphere was cute & the staff was friendly. Will definitely be coming back ud83dude42

Whenever I'm in Wheeling, I always have to stop at Later Alligator! I've only been here a handful of times, but it's truly my favorite restaurant. The food here is always amazing. The menu items are very creative and extremely high quality. I had a pulled pork sandwich here recently and couldn't believe how good it was! There's even a coffee bar inside the restaurant! I also love the atmosphere of the restaurant and all the historical stuff hanging on the walls to look at. Later Alligator is also in a really cool neighborhood, right next to the Center Market. There's a bunch of shops and restaurants nearby to check out as well. Point is, if you're in the area you have to try Later Alligator. It's the best restaurant in Wheeling and one of the best I've ever been to anywhere.

Phenomenal food. Cute indoor dining and lovely lighting. Definitely try their salmon or pesto crepes. If you have a sweet tooth but want something light, their sugar and lemon crepe is the most delicious dessert crepe I've ever had. Cocktails are 5 stars too!
