A Must VISIT!! Absolutely amazing
Wonderful place for the people of McDowell County to learn life-changing skills. Jack Fultz and staff are doing great work.
Gary is a city located along the Tug Fork River in McDowell County, West Virginia, United States. According to the 2010 census, the city had a population of 968. It was named for Elbert Henry Gary, one of the founders of U.S. Steel. Gary, West Virginia is a declined town when the demand for coal dropped severely dropped and MANY people lost their jobs. Many people left and some are just stuck in the town. The population is very tiny. There is drug abuse and alcohol. This town would be a goner if it didn't have School For Life! School For Life is a missionary center founded by Jack Fultz. School For Life strives to serve the needy changing hopelessness to optimism. However, the place itself is not in the best of shape. It has crippled paint no air conditioning, etc. I guess you kind of expect that. We are not there to serve ourselves but others! The staff is very very nice and they already act like they know you. This is my first mission trip and I went along with Signal Mountain Baptist Church. If your church is looking for a place to mission to, look into this!
