Israel Revealed with Daniel & Steven Rona

We would recommend Israel Revealed with this qualification -- that Steven Rona spend less time reading scriptures to the group (in the heat of the day) and expounding on the gospel according to Rona, and allow more time to enjoy the spirit of the sites themselves. We were herded from place to place with little consideration for the needs of our tour group (many of whom were elderly retired people). Notwithstanding, the overall experience was very worthwhile and informative.

The places we visited were interesting. Israel was not as we expected it would be, it is much more beautiful. We enjoyed hearing about the history and significance of the places we visited. We did, however, expect a better organized tour. From the beginning, there were mis-communications, conflicting information and an overall feeling that the right hand did not know what the left hand was doing in the Israel Revealed office. We were in a group of 7 and information was not given to all members of our group, we had to call or e-mail (sometimes several times) to get information. When we arrived at our hotel at the Dead Sea, they had no reservation for us. After about 45 minutes and several phone calls, the reservation was found; under the name of another member of our party who was staying at a different hotel! When the trip starts out on a sour note, and is followed by more than one room mix-up and inconvenience, it is difficult to get in the spirit. We were told on several occasions that our group would be about 32-35 people. There were anywhere from 56 to 65 depending on who was joining us on that particular day. Made the logistics very difficult and rather unpleasant on occasion. If you want very detailed information about the events that occurred in the Holy Land, with a lot of commentary from an Israeli/American then I recommend Israel Revealed. If you are not wanting an information overload, travel with another tour guide.

Daniel is brilliant! His insights from scripture combined with storytelling and music made my first trip to the Holy Land one I will not forget. I highly recommend this tour

Toured with Daniel Rona in 1999 with my wife and five young daughters while being stationed in the USAF in Turkey, and absoultly loved it. He gave so much information on being an Isralie, an American, a Jew and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He told of the first Conference held in the Garden of Gethsemane of where the Lord was there and this was confirmed by my cousin Mark G. who was a counselor in the Branch Presidency with Brother Rona. Then as we sang hymns at the Garden Tomb I felt the Spirit so strong I wept like a baby...just like I will when I see my Savour again. I am so grateful for my Savior and the tour Brother Rona conducts. He may be a little more expensive than some but I would say you will NOT get your moneys worth any other way. GO!

It was a great tour, Daniel is very knowledgeable and lots of experience and makes the new testament come to life
