Don’t miss this stop if you are in the beautiful Big Bend area. Incredibly delicious pastries and breads baked from ancient grains hand milled onsite. Staff is friendly and passionate everything they make. Bakery walls showcase gorgeous paintings of favorite Big Bend hikes and vistas painted by the owner’s mom.

Taste and See was recommended to us from a waiter in Marathon. We detoured to Alpine to get lunch to take to Big Bend. The ladies who run the bakery are just great! The food is equal to the service. We had sandwiches, pimento cheese, hummus, a tart and chocolate cake. Very much worth the detour.

Beautiful Raspberry Tart with real pastry cream, it was delicious! The women at the counter were so kind and friendly. Kids get a free cookie. And the coffee was quite good as well, very smooth and balanced.

The German chocolate pie was delicious! It has a fancy name, but I can’t remember it. The employee was super nice and offered me and my friend water. Definitely a great stop for our trip.

They kindly gave us a delicious free chocolate chip cookie to sample while we were deciding on our order: a Mini-Bundt Carrot Cake, a Mini-Bundt Strawberry Orange Cake, and a Blueberry Muffin. Each item was tasty with a moist and delicate texture. They didn't have lattes, so we ordered straight coffee, which was well balanced and served as an excellent foil for the sweets. Thank you for a wonderful experience — we 100% recommend Taste and See Bakery!
