I read the advice from the Texas Department of Insurance about how to choose an insurance agent. I like the idea of choosing an independent insurance agent and they provide a search function for this. I reviewed the agents and how many companies they represent. There were 3 that I liked.nnI picked Brian Crutchfield to call first because he represents the most companies: 29. Plus, when I went to his website, it's easy to conclude he's a normal guy. He has a pic and, no offense to Brian, but he doesn't look like a slick, high-power salesman who's going to take advantage of me. So I called.nnHe picked up the phone himself. No receptionist, no voicemail. He told me I probably didn't need commercial liability insurance for the new business I'm starting. Advised me when I would want to start thinking of it. It's obvious Brian is not in it to just to make a buck. Even though I'm a stranger calling on the phone, he put my interests first. Amazing.nnAlthough I haven't bought any insurance from him yet, he's who I'll call when I do need it.
