We have used Budget a number of times because the prices are reasonable and the cars are in good shape. For this experience, we arrived late in the evening and there was only 1 person was working. There were at least 15 people in line when I arrived and I was impressed how the woman was kind and patient trying to get us out of there as quickly as possible.

They are attempting to charge me $479 for a cleaning fee for “dog hair” in the rental. I picked up this car in Lake Charles, Louisiana, then drove it 2 hours to Houston with one stop 5 minutes from the airport for gas. I didn’t even eat or drink in the car. There was definitely no dog in the car. I was driving to an airport.nnWhen I called to investigate the charge which was showing up on my credit card as a 3 day rental, I was told they had “photo evidence” of the dog hair so there wasn’t even a way for me to *dispute* the charge. Again, I had no dog in the car at any point in the two hours I had the car.nnI disputed the charge with my credit card and they found in my favor but Budget came back with a challenge (probably the fake photos) so I am still waiting for an update on that.nnI also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Budget refused to deal with the complaint because of the credit card dispute.nnLong story short, spend the extra $100 on Enterprise’s drop off fee and save the $479 of fake charges from Budget.nnI highly recommend *never* using this company.

Way, way, way too pricey! It was well over $100/day! The rental process was a mess! An additional driver was cost prohibitive and shouldn't be a charge - other carriers don't charge for that. It took a very long time at the rental desk, didn't get the contracted car, and never had a contract reflecting the correct vehicle during the entirety of the rental. The desk was not open at the needed time for return so we had to incur additional expense to return early and secure other transportation. Ultimately, the vehicle itself was lovely - that is the only reason the rating is as high as it is. Experience was rather disappointing.

It would not allow me to select zero stars. The car I reserved was not available upon pick up. I accepted a 4 door pick up truck as I am an out of state traveler who traveled with no pets by airplane. 3 weeks later they charge me an additional fraudulent charge upon my inquiry I was told smoke which I do not then it was changed to animal hair. This is a lie. I have made several complaints and will never use this service again. It was my first time using budget. I have proof from my airline I had no pets upon travel. They even have an address that is not mine listed on this fraudulent letter.
