We sat outside with a lunch from a local restraunt, at the Derricks near downtown Kilgore, Tx. Nice area, clean and quiet. We enjoyed the fresh air..... Birds singing. Picnic tables were perfect. Great day.
We found it unique and interesting. We ate a picnic lunch at one of the tables under the derricks. The history on the memorial donations of derricks was fun to read, also. Old downtown was quaint, clean, and beautiful.
Came for pics but it was really sunny. The weather casters said cloudy today. They missed it, big time.
Great shops, local products, and restaurants. Worth an easy walk around the old down town area of Kilgore.
This is so rich in Historical Information. It is a must visit when you come to Kilgore Texas.
