Whitesboro Public Library

I love going to the library! There is something for everyone. I've been getting back into reading and pucking up books for myself and my kids. They do require you wear a mask. They also check your temperature at the door and have sanitizer as well.

Renewed my passport there, and everyone was very nice and helpful ! The woman that helped me ( I didn’t get her name ud83dude41) was very informative and sweet making sure I had all the info on what to expect after she sent the application ! Will definitely be back for anything else that I need !

This review is very delayed. What happened in my review happened last summer, but a friend related a similar experience last week so i wanted to post.nWasnt a place for a large family, they are very tense around a group of younger kids. I can only assume they must be used to dealing with some pretty rowdy behavior, hair triggers with many of the staff. We stopped going here after i was passively chewed out for asking to use the loaner card so i may log onto a computer to pay a water bill. The first woman said sure but please remember my card next time, before she was done speaking a second interjected not to let people come in every day to use the loaner card when they knew they needed to just pay for a replacement or hear no- people abused it too much. The loaner card is meant for an occasional need.nI hadn't been there in about 6 months, couldnt find my card and could not afford the replacement fee. Before the long absence we were nearly weekly visitors with no problems/no screaming running children. I immediately gave them back the loaner card and made it clear i hadn't been there in quite some time, and i felt very uncomfortable using the card at all at that point. The second woman seemed surprised and told me it was fine, she typed a few things into the computer and told me id not used it for some time.... i said no that's just fine thank you anyways please take it back because im leaving.nWe haven't been back since and don't intend to ever return. Keep in mind folks this happened awhile ago, things may be very different now. They may have changed policy and they might be a little more at ease in their role as support for the community at large. Its very possible i caught someone having a case of the mondays, and she mistook me for someone else.nI simply don't know, we dont need to test the waters again.nI remember they had some really lovely reading and activity programs for children.nMight still be a good place to find such things.
