Memorial Hospital

After having a horrific experience at CHI Memorial, Memorial really delivered with their professionalism, knowledge and compassion. Last night between 8-8:15pm I was swallowed a piece of food and it got lodged in my throat and wouldn’t pass or go down. I waited at CHI from 9pm-1am undergoing multiple tests and a CT scan with rudeness and long periods of time not hearing or knowing what they found or if they could do anything. I was transferred by ambulance to Memorial and they had a welcoming atmosphere from the get go! They registered me and I was taken to a stay room to wait on the GI crew and anesthesiologist to come get me and the surgical procedure to begin. The nurse had me change and put on my gown and let me call my best friend (my emergency contact) from a mobile phone because my phone had died. This nurse offered me her own charger and plugged it in while I waited on the anesthesiologist! They granted my best friend permission for her to be with me. Before she could be brought to me, they took me back and prepped me, introduction was made, the procedure was explained, consent was given, and the appropriate care was given. They dislodged the piece of food and sent me home once I made it to recovery and was ready to go with discharge papers on instructions to follow and a lasting impression! I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone! They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and safe whether they knew it or not! I would give more than five stars if I could!!

All the staff I came in contact with were awesome..I was in ICU for a couple of days before being moved to a room in 1 South. Just a real professional bunch..I felt like I was getting the best treatment possible..Thanks for the unbelievable care I received. What ever they pay them isn't enough ud83dudc4dud83dudc4d

In the event of quadruple bypass surgery, our family was never told the same thing twice regarding visiting procedure. It was as if they made the rules up as they went, depending on who you were talking to. We never knew what to expect each day, even from morning shift to afternoon shift. Driving 100 miles round trip, twice a day, with absolutely no standard of operations, was distressing for all of us, not to mention the patient.

My husband had covid. Came to Memorial Oct 25. The nurses & doctors literally saved his life a couple of times. Compassionate, energetic team in CCU who monitored him costantly. We are forever grateful that we got our Dad, grandfather back. Thank you is not enough !
