I am not a huge fan of hotel bars. However, Thoroughbred is exceptional. Always alive. Great drinks. Good snacks. Service is first class. One of my favorites!

The atmosphere and service made this location nothing but exceptional. The bar had a very formal feel initially but the service made it personal. The drinks are excellent but I would say the food varied a bit. As an example, the meat tray was great but the cheese plate was lacking, the chicken fingers and fries were phenomenal (and definitely not a fast-food version) but the She-Crab soup was small and mine was warm to a bit cold. On the other hand all the different waitresses we had (though I have forgotten their names) were excellent and helpful. Even with the criticisms on food I would still strongly recommend stopping here for an afternoon drink or a nightcap.

It is a REALLY nice bar. The atmosphere is intimate and I felt like it was only my husband and I in the restaurant. We were there pretty mucb everyday we stayed in Charleston. We had Chicken Tenders and Fries and She Crab Soup. Both were fantastic. We also tried the turkey wrap which was good too. We also had a fair amount of cocktails and wine from here. Gotta say their bartender knows how to make a drink. Definitely recommend coming here for a drink.

Ask for Asia to be your server. She is the consummate professional. She made sure that my son and I had a wonderful experience at the thoroughbred club. She Also gave us great advice as to what items to order from the menu. The seafood pasta was excellent.
