The area is beautiful but the mosquitoes ruin it. I was at other campsites in the same area with no issue, I get here and I'm being attacked. Thankfully I had bug spray and a citronella candle to make it tolerable. Honestly I'd say check out the trails and camp somewhere else. They really need bat boxes or something to control the mosquitoes here.nnDay 2... Let's start with the positive. It's been on and off rain all morning. The drainage is good in the camp sites. No flooding what so ever. While raining there were lots of puddles but when it stopped they disappeared. Now the negative, if you have children be very careful. I wondered to go to the bathroom and found a broken crack pipe. Let's end on the positive, other then that there's not much litter at all. It seems they keep this site very clean overall.

an absolutely stunning boardwalk over the swamplands leading to an open view of the swamp. lesson learned: keep your dog on leash, even if you are the ONLY person in the whole reserve. i came on a rainy day and my dog knew it was water under us. but, by the time it reached the end of the boardwalk, she forgot and thought the open swamp, covered in green, was her field of dreams. scary. my arm was barely able to scoop her up by looping a finger under her collar.nnother notes: i ran into the park ranger on my way in and he was very friendly and helpful. other reviews tell you to wear bug spray. i will go a step further and say to put it on before you even go there! they weren't a problem on the boardwalk but where you park, you will be eaten up in seconds. i originally planned to sleep here for the night, but after the mosquitos getting me, we RAN back into the vehicle and took off. itch itch itch.

Very beautiful area!!! Peaceful and well maintained. Will definitely visit again. Mosquitoes and love bugs, but tolerable in my campervan.
