Horrible. The women on the phone was rude, had a attitude towards me and very unhelpful. Never heard of a sheriff office closed on election day but leave there doors unlocked for people to come in even tho no one is there. A sign on the door saying closed would have been great.
Our horrible experience with Sequoyah County Sheriff's started around 9 years ago. We had a new neighbor move in the first 6 month to a year after this man moved in, my animals started disappearing. My husband would find them either shot or poisoned, we could not prove the poisoning. Every time we called the sheriff's department they would send a deputy and because it didn't involve drugs or something of that matter, they wouldn't do anything. Because they didn't do their job this man got bold enough to burn down first my shed and because it didn't spread to my home, he burned my home a week and 6 days later. It has been proven to be arson, with no help from county. We are still trying to get our lives back to normal, but knowing that we are not getting the proper help from the law and no justice being served is making for a difficulty road. Our grown kids are wondering who we are to turn to for help? Who do we all trun to? If there is no drugs or guns or murder their hands are tied to do their actual jobs they are hired for and are paid for by the people they will not help.
Sequoyah County is not a place you want to live or visit. If you need help, they will not respond for (at minimum) two hours. When they do respond, if it is not drug related, they tell you there is nothing they can do...

Was broken down and needed a ride. In a tight spot. Deputy neighbors was very kind to help and get us to where we needed to be. Thank you Sequoia County sheriffs department !
