Last night, in the rain, my car wouldn’t start. Both of the attendants on duty were patient and helpful as two different AAA guys had to come to get it cranked. I can’t speak to reserving spots on apps or other negative experiences mentioned in other reviews. Last night I needed help and they helped me with grace.
I saw all the horrible reviews and felt compelled to write a good one! I purchased parking on Spot Hero for $15. Had no trouble with the attendant (he was so nice)! The lot is more expensive if you pay their rates but it was super cheap on Spot Hero and I had no issues.
I blew $15 reserving a space with Spothero just to show up and find the parking attendant waving people away. I don't think the lot was full - it looked like a car broke down or something in the entrance, and instead of letting people use the other gates, they just closed the whole thing.
On arrival, we were provided with three parking slips. We believe we handed these back when we arrived back but were subsequently told we had lost the ticket. Especially since it was clear we had been there less than two hours, it is unclear why it was necessary to charge a lost ticket fee.
Attendants are pleasant and don't make accommodating schedule changes overly difficult. Location is excellent, virtually directly off the very center of Harvard Square, and prices are accordingly atrocious. NB: At particularly busy times, can fill up more quickly than space availability information is updated with third-party parking reservation services, so if using one, be sure to allow plenty of time to contact their customer service, wait an alternative is located, etc.!
