Recently hired a painter to paint my kitchen cabinets. Specified Navel Blue from Sherwin Williams. Painter used a "match" from PPG instead. Insured me the paint is better and the way to go. Fired the painter and ended up having to do the project myself. The color was purple instead of Blue. Called the number on the can and was told, "your painter approved the color, so tough." (Mike) The correct answer is, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience, how can I make it right." I let him know I would just purchase from Sherwin Williams. His response was, "OK" and hung up. I am so glad he did. The PPG paint is like water compared to Sherwin Williams. Well worth the money to buy a new gallon and get better results. Takes 1/4 the paint to do the same job. Terrible service to go with a mediocre product.
I have been a professional painter for almost 40 years. The Sandy PPG store has the PPG Professionals finishes and primers for very good prices. Jim and Lynnelle have been mixing paint and matching colors for me for many years, and have always been most competent. They know their products, and have best-quality application tools like brushes and rollers. I will drive far out of my way to buy products from them.
Great store! I go out of my way to make it to this one because they are always so kind and helpful.There products work great! I have a painting company and the higher end products they sell hold up very well and do not fade.
Great service
I decided to go bye paint at a professional paint store in order to NOT get any issues from unprofessional assistants. Boy was I wrong, I went there to get more of the same paint I just purchase a week before - I did exactly was the first assistant told me - "bring back the recipe and we will make more of the same color." So I did that - and I came home with a different white color. Could not see that before it was up on the wall next to the other white. I went back there and there were excuses on excuses- when the assistant looked up the color code she even got a different code of how to made the white - so that added yet another dimension to a 3rd variety of my white.
I am not going to get my paint there again.
