Been here many times and absolutely love it. Come for a hike, come for a picnic and let the kids play. First time coming here with snow on the ground. It was cold but the trail up to the monument was accessible and still easy to walk even with the snow on the ground.

Beautiful park that has a playground, restrooms and picnic tables. A short walk up to monument. Beautiful and serene! $2 entrance fee.

Ample parking and access to the Appalachian Trail. There's a lower lot for hiker and an upper lot with a port-a-potty (bathrooms are closed for the winter). There's also a pavilion, picnic area and jungle gym.

Great, small state park, history tidbits along the walk, nice view, parking area has plenty of picnic tables spaced out with grills, large open grass area + playground, water station bathrooms. Saw lots of happy dogs being walked. Careful on narrow roads, which have potholes.

This State park is truly a hidden gem. GPS will take you on a winding, steep drive through the MD countryside up to the park and it's a really nice, secluded area that is well maintained by the Park people. Walk up a gravel path where you will come upon the Appalachian Trail! A bit further up the path you'll come to the summit and a large stone dome erected to the memory of George Washington. Walk around to the back side of the dome and you'll come upon a spectacular panoramic view of the little town of Boonsboro, MD off in the distance.
